October is National Disability Employment Awareness MonthFrom the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Disability Employment Policy: “Held each October, National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) is a national campaign that raises awareness about disability employment issues and celebrates the many and varied contributions of America's workers with disabilities.”

City of Pasadena - City Council MeetingPasadena City Council meetings are currently held on Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. On the first meeting of the month in October, Pasadena Civitan joins the Commission on Accessibility and Disability for the public presentation of the Proclamation of National Disability Employment Awareness Month. At the same time, Pasadena Civitan invites the council and public to the October Employment Reception.
A Robert Gorski Accessibility Award by the City of Pasadena is being created to be "given in recognition of commitment toward promoting greater awareness and opportunity in making the City of Pasadena a fully accessible and inclusive community for all. " Robert was a Pasadena Civitan member and instrumental in developing our project and passion for employment. |
